The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems across both hardware and software, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The team is heavily involved in utilizing computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data to give our war fighters and allies an advantage.

ABOUT THE JOB

Anduril is developing and building new lidar product lines in Boulder, CO. Our work ranges between rolling out new prototypes to transitioning to production, and we’re looking for someone to join our team who enjoys: working in the lab to build, align and test prototype systems; developing and executing alignment, integration and test plans and detailed procedures; working with a production team to transition new products into low rate initial production; and learning quickly to take on new challenges that this small team will solve in a fast paced environment.

The I&T Engineer will be someone with broad, multidisciplinary experience who is able to learn quickly to solve a wide variety of challenges!

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead and execute all integration and test activities of EO systems ranging from prototypes to low rate initial production.
  • Responsible for alignment, testing and calibration of precision optical, electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems.
  • Responsible for Boulder test facilities and infrastructure, including: calibration of test equipment, inventory management for system builds, AS9100 implementations for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development product phase.
  • Work with production manufacturing and quality engineers to develop product Assembly, Integration and Test processes and procedures for a New Product Introduction.
  • Develop alignment and assembly test plans. Perform and oversee alignments and assembly for refinement and red lining of test plans.
  • Identify and troubleshoot hardware and test anomalies independently. Document anomalies with test results and initial debug results for presentation to larger team.
  • Lead environmental testing campaign by writing test plans and procedures. executing the test program, and working hand-in-hand with our environmental test SMEs and external vendors to ensure successful completion of the test campaign.
  • Act as a local Laser Safety Officer, and consult on laser safety topics across the company.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of related experience in industry and/or graduate school working with EO imaging systems, lasers, and/or lidar systems with an engineering background in disciplines such as electrical engineering, optical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience transitioning a hardware system from prototype to low rate production.
  • Experience with environmental safety practices, including laser safety.
  • Experience participating in system buy-off or deployment including field testing, acceptance testing, and system verification and validation
  • Demonstrated ability to give technical presentations and provide written reports and documentation.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with, developing and/or testing lasers and lidar, imaging optical systems, pointing mechanisms and controls, and electrical subsystems.
  • Experience with opto-mechanical assembly and alignment.
  • Experience with optical assembly, bonding and alignment.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining software for test automation, data analytics, and report generation.
  • Experience with electrical system assembly and testing using DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc. Familiarity with working with ESD sensitive hardware.
US Salary Range
$126,000$167,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
