Position Summary
We are seeking a creative and motivated Lab Associate to assist in day-to-day lab operations and serve as the daily contact for lab requests at our new facility. The Lab Ops Associate will have the primary responsibility for ensuring the labs, equipment, offices, and building systems are running in an operative, clean, and efficient manner. Working closely with the Lab Operations Manager, additional responsibilities will focus on building a wider platform for resident space planning, lab operations assistance, and overall infrastructure to better serve the people and companies at The Engine.
Areas of Responsibility
- Provide day-to-day laboratory operations support (consumables inventory, laboratory housekeeping, general management)
- Support the Laboratory Operations Managers and resident companies with as needed laboratory tasks and special projects
- Work with resident companies and Engine EHS to ensure hazardous material compliance and inventory
- Provide equipment maintenance and troubleshooting support as needed
- Maintain laboratory facilities and general cleanliness
- Laboratory operational support as needed

Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, preferred Biology or Chemistry
- 1-3 years of experience in a lab environment
- Project Management skills preferred
- Clear written communication
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
