Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Konica EXA Integration Engineer with a proven track record of implementing and managing bi-directional integrations through Konica’s Data Access Layer (DAL). This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining seamless data exchange between the Konica EXA platform and various healthcare systems, including EMRs, RIS, PACS, and third-party applications.

The ideal candidate will have direct hands-on experience working with Konica EXA integrations, strong healthcare IT knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot complex integration workflows in high-volume imaging environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integration Development & Implementation
    • Configure and manage bi-directional data integrations using Konica’s Data Access Layer.
    • Connect EXA to EMRs, RIS, PACS, and other imaging and healthcare systems via HL7, DICOM, FHIR, and other industry standards.
    • Develop and maintain custom integration scripts, APIs, and interfaces to support workflow automation.
  • System Analysis & Requirements Gathering
    • Work with clinical, IT, and vendor teams to define integration requirements and design specifications.
    • Assess current workflows and recommend optimization strategies for data exchange.
  • Testing & Validation
    • Conduct end-to-end testing of integrations to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
    • Validate data mapping, message formatting, and interoperability across systems.
  • Support & Troubleshooting
    • Monitor integration performance and resolve issues proactively.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all Konica EXA integration-related inquiries.
    • Work closely with Konica support and client IT teams to resolve escalated technical issues.
  • Compliance & Security
    • Ensure all integrations meet HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational security policies.
    • Maintain proper documentation of integration configurations, workflows, and change history.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct, hands-on experience with Konica EXA Data Access Layer integrations (bi-directional) — must be able to provide examples of past work.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, DICOM, FHIR, IHE profiles).
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems including EMRs, RIS, PACS, and imaging modalities.
  • Proficiency with integration tools, scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar), and API development.
  • Solid understanding of clinical workflows in radiology and imaging environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating Konica EXA with high-volume hospital or imaging center environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based deployments and secure data transmission protocols (VPN, SFTP, HTTPS).
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and data transformation tools.
  • Vendor certification in Konica EXA integration or related systems.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare system integration, with at least 1+ year directly involving Konica EXA DAL.

Why Join Us

  • Work with cutting-edge healthcare integration technology.
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled and supportive team.
  • Drive impactful projects that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
