Our Adhesives & Fluids business is seeking an experienced Global OEM Key Account Manager, preferably based in Germany, to drive growth and strengthen strategic relationships with one of our key global automotive OEM customers.


This highly visible commercial role is responsible for developing and executing a global account strategy that expands DuPont's position across automotive applications, with a strong focus on electric vehicle batteries, Body-in-White (BiW) assembly, glass bonding, thermal management, and emerging mobility technologies.


The successful candidate will actively engage with engineering, purchasing, innovation, and executive stakeholders to drive specification of DuPont technologies at the earliest stages of vehicle development. The role combines strategic account leadership, business development, technology positioning, and cross-functional coordination to protect existing business while accelerating growth through innovation and new application opportunities.


The Global OEM Key Account Manager is expected to develop long-term customer partnerships, identify future platform opportunities, and mobilize internal resources across commercial, technical, manufacturing, and supply chain functions to deliver sustainable value for both the customer and DuPont.

This position reports directly to the Regional Commercial Director, EMEA Automotive Adhesives & Fluids.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global account strategy for a major multinational automotive OEM, aligned with DuPont's growth objectives.
  • Drive profitable growth by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities across existing and emerging vehicle platforms.
  • Expand DuPont's participation in electric vehicle battery systems, electrification technologies, lightweighting, and other key automotive growth segments.
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with customer stakeholders across engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, sustainability, and senior leadership functions.
  • Deliver the Adhesives & Fluids business plan for assigned accounts, including revenue, volume, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Lead regional and global commercial negotiations while managing pricing, profitability, and business terms in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute strategic account plans, ensuring effective use of CRM, forecasting, and pipeline management tools.
  • Identify and influence vehicle platform developments and innovation roadmaps to secure early specification of DuPont technologies.
  • Position DuPont as a trusted innovation partner and solution provider through close collaboration with customer development centers, design teams, and material engineering groups.
  • Work closely with technical service, R&D, product management, supply chain, manufacturing, and marketing teams to ensure flawless execution of growth initiatives.
  • Assess and continuously optimize route-to-market strategies and customer engagement models.
  • Effectively manage a robust opportunity pipeline to ensure long-term sustainable business growth.
  • Develop and execute value-based selling strategies that clearly articulate customer benefits and competitive differentiation.
  • Build and manage relationships throughout complex automotive value chains, including OEMs, battery manufacturers, Tier suppliers, and strategic partners.
  • Promote sales excellence by sharing best practices, driving account governance, and ensuring alignment of regional and global growth strategies.
  • Meet or exceed agreed revenue, margin, market share, and growth targets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in key account management, business development, sales leadership, or commercial management within the automotive industry.
  • Strong background in automotive adhesives, sealants, specialty materials, battery technologies, or related engineered solutions is highly preferred.
  • Experience and established networks within the adhesives, sealants, or advanced materials industry are considered a significant advantage. Candidates with a proven track record in specification selling and technology-driven business development for automotive applications will be particularly successful in this role.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex global automotive OEM organizations and navigating multi-level customer structures.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain long-term relationships with OEMs, battery manufacturers, engineering organizations, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle development processes, electrification trends, battery systems, Body-in-White assembly, structural bonding, glazing, and related automotive applications.
  • Proven ability to drive technology adoption and influence decisions during early development and specification phases.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing pricing, profitability, contract negotiations, and business planning.
  • Results-driven, customer-focused, and capable of delivering growth in a highly competitive environment.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional projects involving technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global matrix organization and multicultural business environment.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, including executive and C-suite leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German. Additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 40-50%) to support customer engagement and global business activities.
  • Strong understanding of and high discipline in occupational safety and sustainability 
  • Valid driver's license.
