An exciting opportunity is available to join Gewalt Hamilton Associates (GHA), an employee-owned, multi-faceted civil engineering, land surveying, and consulting company. We are seeking a K-12 Education Market Leader to join our growing Business Development team in Vernon Hills, IL. The Market Leader is anticipated to have been a former K-12 Facilities Director, K-12 Assistant Superintendent / CSBO, or K-12 Superintendent.

How you will make an impact:

The K-12 Education Market Leader will report to the Division Director and perform business development and marketing tasks for our growing K-12 Education Practice. Services that our K-12 Education Practice provides include civil engineering, transportation engineering, landscape design, playground design, and various other capital improvement projects/planning. This role is an exempt, salary, position. We offer a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with decision makers within the K-12 Education market throughout northern Illinois. Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with current GHA clients. Build and develop relationships with future K-12 Education clients.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts with GHA and attend IASBO conferences and events while representing GHA.
  • Mentoring and management of junior engineering staff assigned to projects.
  • Organize and participate in local educational sessions. Serve as host and provide educational opportunities and other meetings to serve the K-12 Education Market.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with partner design professionals in the K-12 Education Market such as architects, planners, construction managers, and owner’s representatives.

Qualifications

What you will bring to Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Associated professional licensure.

Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Driver's License and registered insured personal vehicle.
  • Minimum 20 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, educational administration, or school finance which includes 10 years of experience working in a leadership position at the school district level.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High level of proficiency in complex matters.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision and as part of a larger team.
  • Self-starting, detail-oriented individual, with organizational and interpersonal skills essential.
  • A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
