We are seeking a motivated Junior Test Engineer to join our team supporting Model and Simulation (M&S) systems with a focus on Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground Test events. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with complex simulation systems, test execution, and data analysis in a mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to the full test lifecycle—from planning to post-mission analysis.
As a Junior Test Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development and execution of test procedures and test plans for simulation-based systems.
- Support pre-mission setup, including system configuration, loading simulation scenarios, and verifying test readiness.
- Act as a test operator during MDA Ground Test events, executing scripted procedures and monitoring test progress in real-time.
- Perform post-mission activities, such as collecting data, documenting results, and assisting in analysis and reporting.
- Help troubleshoot and debug basic test hardware/software issues under supervision.
- Work closely with senior engineers to ensure test objectives are met and systems perform as expected.
- Learn and apply best practices for test documentation, version control, and issue tracking.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in a test environment
- Strong interest in system testing, simulation, or defense-related technologies.
- Basic knowledge of test methods, data analysis, or system troubleshooting (coursework or internships acceptable).
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, work in a structured environment, and document results clearly.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- DoD Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to contract and security requirements.
- All work is performed at government site; no telework or remote option is available
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or academic experience with simulation, modeling, or real-time systems.
- Familiarity with basic scripting or programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C/C++).
- Exposure to test automation, hardware/software integration, or defense-related projects.
