About the role

Telecom Project Manager will perform daily project management operations through all five phases of the project life cycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, and closeout.  You will need to create and lead the team, monitor & track project progress, set deadlines, solve issues that arise, manage budget, ensure stakeholder satisfaction, control outcomes facilitating project team meetings along the way to ensure performance, including the performance of team members.

Areas of Responsibility

• Secure that the project has necessary resources in terms of budget, people, to meet the predefined objectives of the project

• Develop project schedule using standard tool (such as MS Project) and use project plan in project meetings to secure that actions and deliverables are kept on time and that dependencies are addressed

• Develop a communication plan for information transparency on ongoing prestudies/projects in build (Yammer page , reports..)

• Provide progress reports continuously and/or upon request to sponsor, management team, project members, wider audience and line management

• Manage risks by identifying, classifying and mitigating them. Prepare risk register and issue logs as necessary and take required actions

• Monitor Project Progress (regular project review meetings, meeting minutes, schedule adjustment..), develop project control and reporting procedures and manage changes in operational plan; track project spend versus approved budget

• Manage change requests should there be project budget deviations

• Provide appropriate documentation and conduct hand over to line organization (Ops team) upon completion of the project

• Upon completion, provide Lessons learned reports with respect to quality, time, cost as well as closure documents/archiving project files incl. financial report

Qualifications

• Building effective relationships, strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Good time-management skills, problem solving and decision-making

• Strong ability in managing people towards a common goal under scope/time/cost constraints and in managing risks

• Strong computer skills especially with project management software (for project scheduling like MS Project ..)

Will be an advantage

• Project management certification (such as PMI, Prince2, Agile methodologies etc.) 

• Experience with the technical build processes related to the rollout of xWDM, Ethernet and IP-technologies (eg. Planning, HW vendor and 3rd party provider’s handling)
