The Role
Job Description
The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for providing essential administrative support to the Finance Division. This role involves handling a range of vital tasks, including managing communications (phone and email), assisting with customer accounts and payments, and preparing financial reports to ensure the smooth operation of finance functions. This is a full-time position with hybrid and on-site opportunities available.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with maintaining accurate customer accounts
- Posts customer payments
- Prepares various customer statements and financial reports
- Assists with the customer collections process
- Creates and updates documents and spreadsheets as needed
- Performs data entry tasks and creating reports
- Reviews, coding and verifying transactions
- Keeps hard copy/electronic division files up to date and in order
- Answers incoming calls from customers and employees
- Handles general email inquiries
- Additional projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or AA degree in Accounting or Finance (completed or in progress); equivalent years of experience in a related role is acceptable
- Proven communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong focus on ensuring tasks and responsibilities are completed 100%, with good tracking and follow-up practices
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proactive, eventually be able to anticipate administrative needs of the division
- Possess a California driver's license
