We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer, who is willing to contribute to research activities around network automation platform. In this role you will become a part of the Scrum Team, in which every member has responsibility and privilege to contribute to architecture, design and implementation of automated service management applications. The team is looking for someone with basic knowledge of Java combined with object oriented programming paradigms. Some familiarity with Python is an additional asset (automated tests and peripherals).
Principle duties and essential functions
Full lifecycle of Java application - design, implement, debug
Performing unit tests and fixing reported defects
Decomposition of the tasks along software construction process
Performing code reviews to the team members
Documentation of the development process
Design, implement and maintain automated tests
Execution and design of functional tests
Documentation and tracking of defects in the test/development management system
Key technologies and practices we use
Java 17
Code review and contineous integration(Upsource and Gerrit)
Git repository and branching strategies (git flow),
Unit tests (JUnit),
Automated build system and test automation (Jenkins and Python)
You are free to select convenient development environment (native Linux, docker, WSL) and IDE
Additional, desired technical qualifications
Experience in Robot Framework (knowledge of Selenium Library would be a an advantage)
Familiarity with compilation, static code analysis and code review tools (Maven, Gradle, Sonarqube, Upsource)
Familiarity with Python
Familiarity of IP-based networks, TCP-based applications, REST, YANG
Familiarity with telecommunication standards G.709, TAPI
Work experience with Agile development techniques
