The Opportunity:
As Junior Software Engineer, you’ll join an enthusiastic and experienced Product & Engineering team in our Melbourne office. You’ll work within our Product Engineering group to contribute towards the evolution of our products while honing your skills in your desired speciality.
We are developing contemporary systems architectures that are highly scalable, durable, and based on current best practices. Our platform is a mixture of a well-maintained monolith, supported by multiple microservices. Our base toolset currently consists of Java 11 and ReactJS running Dockerised services on AWS.

What you’ll be doing:
- Feeding your curiosity. Get hands-on experience with backend Java, front-end ReactJS, databases, AWS systems management, build pipelines, observability, and more. There’s heaps to learn on your journey with us.
- Learning good practice. Learn from people who know their stuff and have best practice built into their DNA.
- Exploring career paths. Be supported to learn a variety of tools and frameworks, to understand where you want to go in your career ahead.
- Contributing to complex systems. Be guided through the process of contributing to our award-winning services. Add real customer value quickly and feel satisfaction.
What we’re looking for:
- A demonstrated hunger to learn everything tech. You might have your own projects or have contributed to open source, or something else that shows your passion.
- Effective at discussing problems with other team members while behaving respectfully while having fun.
- Comfortable asking lots of questions and re-working solutions based on feedback. You’re not afraid to fail on a task if it means you’ve learned something.
- Desire to challenge the status quo and offer ideas on how we can improve
- Experience in Javascript or front end development. Full stack capable, but passionate in front end.
