Position Summary

Pando Telecom is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Automation Engineer to join our growing Platform Operations Team. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to grow their skills in software automation, testing frameworks, and process optimization.

As a Junior Software Automation Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of automation tools that streamline our software delivery processes. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers, developers, and cross-functional teams to support CI/CD pipelines, automate routine tasks and workflows across our diverse systems, and assist in educating users on the effective use of these automation solutions.

This position reports directly to the Director of Systems & Technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and tools that support software testing, deployment, and operational processes.
• Utilize APIs, scripting languages, and integration platforms to automate data synchronization and workflows across various internal systems and third-party applications used at Pando Telecom.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and operations teams to identify repetitive tasks and manual processes that can be streamlined or eliminated through automation.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for test scripts, data pipelines, and deployment tools.
• Participate in software testing, debugging, and validation to ensure robust and reliable automation coverage.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve existing automation systems to enhance performance and minimize downtime.
• Ensure all automation solutions adhere to compliance standards, data integrity requirements, and security best practices.
• Support CI/CD initiatives by contributing to automated testing, version control workflows, and deployment automation.
• Document automation processes, integration logic, and tool configurations for internal knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Stay informed on automation best practices, tools, and emerging technologies relevant to the role.

Qualifications

Required:

• A valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash, or similar).
• Familiarity with automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Ansible, TerraForm, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening upon request.

Preferred:

• Experience with source control systems like Git.
• Exposure to cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Coursework or internship experience in automation, QA, or DevOps.
• A general understanding of JavaScript, REST and/or SOAP, WebSockets.

Compensation

• $60,000 - $68,500 per year
• Performance bonuses

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by several factors, including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
