Purpose of the role
The Revenue Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing and controlling ticket sales and passenger revenue data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to support financial and operational decision-making. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, identifies and resolves discrepancies, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across the revenue accounting function.Responsibilities
AccountabilitiesRevenue Data Management & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and revenue reports for Operating Companies (OpCos).
- Monitor report uploads and flight data to identify and correct errors, duplicates, or system issues.
- Perform period-end closures of revenue systems to ensure complete and accurate financial data.
- Analyse accounts and reconcile discrepancies between systems to maintain data integrity.
Interline Billing & Compliance
- Control interline billing and agreements to ensure correct application of commercial terms and prevent revenue leakage.
- Ensure accurate invoice processing and submission to Spain’s State Tax Agency in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement & Support
- Identify gaps in procedures and implement corrective actions to enhance process efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with third-party providers and IT support to resolve system defects and ensure process continuity.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of processes and functional specifications.
- Provide evidence and support for internal and external audits.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Resolve queries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Liaise with PRA system providers, audit suppliers, and IATA to support operational excellence.
- Undertake self-training and act as a backup to ensure continuity of operations.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in an international finance or accounting environment
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel;
- Knowledge of Access/VBA/Power Query or GDS systems (e.g., Amadeus) is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven understanding of airline industry and revenue accounting processes
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Experience working across multiple countries and cultures is desirable
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels and contribute to industry best practices
- Good command of Spanish (written and spoken)
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Customer service mindset and proactive approach
- Willingness to learn and contribute to process improvements
