About Us
Reframe Systems is on a mission to build net-zero carbon housing for all, at massive scale. To achieve our mission, we need to make net-zero carbon housing more affordable and we are re-imagining how housing is designed and built. Our volumetric module platform and highly-automated production system will drive down cost, delivery time, and embodied carbon for multifamily housing. We are setting up our first digital factory in the greater Boston area (Andover, MA), and have a roadmap to scale our presence nationally. We are disrupting assembly line manufacturing for housing production and are backed by leading VC firms in the industrial and construction space.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help transform the AEC design process. This means creating parameterized designs that are far more detailed than traditional AEC workflows. The role includes augmenting CAD workflows with advanced scripting and automated design logic, and generating supporting assets to aid manufacturing and analysis. We are looking for a problem-solving self-starter who likes a challenge and thrives in a multidisciplinary environment.
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) team.
The right candidate will play a crucial role in creating designs from ideation to fabrication for residential and low-rise mulit-family buildings. This role requires a strong background in CAD software, with deep understanding of 3D model management and experience with complex assemblies. Ideally, the candidate has developed understanding of the challenges of automating design and has some familiarity with the scripting capabilities.
The position reports to the Head of Building Products. The position is full-time, salaried, exempt.
Responsibilities
-
CAD Modeling and Detailing: Create detailed 3D CAD models using world-class mechanical parametric CAD systems. Collaborate with architects and designers to convert design concepts into high-fidelity 3D CAD models.
-
CAD Management: Organize and maintain 3D models, files and documentation, including revisions, ensuring that the latest versions are readily accessible to team members. Manage and update CAD models, families, and templates.
-
Quality Assurance: Review 3D models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards and regulations. Make revisions as necessary to address design changes or discrepancies.
-
Manufacturing Drawing Preparation: Work with other modelers to generate 3D details of structural, MEPF and other systems, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
-
Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with manufacturing, operation, architects, project managers, and other team members to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Basic Qualifications
-
Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer is required for this role. Bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required. Background in the construction industry is a plus.
-
Proficiency in Onshape, CATIA, or Solidworks to create, manage, and update 3D CAD models. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Revit is a plus.
-
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and precise 3D models.
-
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
-
Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

What We Do
We are on a mission to unlock climate-friendly housing as a basic human right. To achieve that mission, we're developing low-cost robotic microfactories to build and retrofit net-zero homes 2x faster, 2x cheaper and with 10x lower carbon.
