You will work with a process automation system to monitor the process and adjust controls as necessary. Besides automatic process control, a physical check of the installations remains essential, so you and your colleagues will regularly do rounds through the central for control. In the event of a malfunction, you will perform the analysis yourself and assess the urgency. For repairs or replacements, you will engage the maintenance teams of Mechanical Engineering or Electrical, Control & Instrumentation. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer | Operator Energy & Biocentral, you will:
- Participate in the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of the energy-producing units (Combined Heat and Power units and biomass installations) and the district heating network of Utrecht & Nieuwegein;
- Monitor, under the supervision of your senior, the safety of the installation, the process, permits, and the methodology;
- Analyze and resolve malfunctions (first line);
- Provide support and coordination during major maintenance;
- Contribute to and support continuous improvement of processes and the development of instructions and procedures;
- Work in shift service with corresponding shift allowance.
Requirements
- You have a vocational level 4 diploma in Process Operation Technology (AOT), Mechanical Engineering (WTB), or Vapro C;
- You have a REWIC certificate or are willing to obtain it;
- You are initiative-driven, proactive, flexible, stress-resistant, and goal-oriented;
- You have a critical eye and analytical thinking skills;
- You can work independently as well as in a team;
- You have excellent communication skills.

Skills Required
