Overview:
CHAJI is a full-stack charging and energy solutions company, specialising in infrastructure and management
systems tailored for Africa’s electric mobility ecosystem. We design, assemble,
install, and maintain bespoke energy and charging solutions, combining deep engineering
expertise with an understanding of the continent’s unique energy challenges.
Role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior
Engineer to assist in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of firmware and
electronic components for CHAJI’s energy and e-mobility products. The successful candidate
will work closely with senior engineers on research, development, and
prototyping of embedded systems ,gaining hands-on experience across circuit
design, firmware development, and product deployment.
- Design, test, and
troubleshoot firmware and electronic components for CHAJI’s products.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on
research, development, and prototyping activities.
- Work on embedded systems projects,
focusing on circuit design, PCB development, and firmware implementation.
- Create and maintain technical
documentation for designs, testing procedures, and engineering processes.
- Support product
installations and field deployments, providing technical expertise and
troubleshooting on the ground.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in
Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a closely related
field.
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in
embedded system design, PCB development, and/or firmware engineering.
- Proficiency in embedded programming
(C/C++, Python) and familiarity with microcontroller platforms such as
ESP-IDF, Microchip Studio, and STM32Cube.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
(e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent) and experience with or
exposure to additive manufacturing technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills,
attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software
issues effectively.
- Eagerness to learn and
adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Skills
Summary:
- Solid foundation in
electrical circuit design, PCB development, and embedded system
programming.
- Strong foundation in
microcontroller-based systems, peripheral interfacing, and communication
protocols.
- Hands-on experience with firmware
development workflows and debugging tools.
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM tools
and hands-on experience with additive manufacturing processes (3D
printing, rapid prototyping).
- Effective
collaboration, organisational, and documentation skills.
