OVERVIEW
ISS STOXX is hiring for a Junior Data Analyst to support our Global Meeting Services (GMS) team. Global Meeting Services (GMS) provides data support and services covering markets worldwide including, but not limited to, the United States, Canada, China, Vietnam, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
The team continuously monitors and obtains relevant information on upcoming corporate action events, specifically shareholders' meetings, where topics such as acquisitions, mergers, demergers, and the election of directors and auditors may be discussed. Relevant meeting results are also collected. The information gathered is accurately inputted into the database and generated for clients to support their decision-making processes. Collected information is also utilized by other teams for further data collection and research, contributing to the issuance of ISS Vote Recommendations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor corporate action events such as shareholders' meetings from various sources, including stock exchanges, regulatory agencies, company websites, EDGAR, SEDAR, and other relevant market platforms.
Procure relevant shareholder meeting documents such as Annual Reports, Notices of Meeting, Information Circulars, Proxy Forms, and other Corporate Governance materials.
Contact companies or issuers via email or phone to obtain relevant meeting information and documentation.
Collect meeting details including meeting date, type, record date, location, time, and voting instructions.
Ascertain securities (ISIN, SEDOL, CUSIP, and CINS) that carry voting rights for the relevant meeting.
Extract meeting agendas and encode them into the database to inform clients of the resolutions and proposals being voted on.
Input accurate voting instructions, including valid vote options, market deadlines, and registrar details.
Collect and encode meeting results into the database.
Assist with other relevant projects and initiatives as assigned.
Investigate market-related issues raised by various internal teams.
Review, address, and resolve issues identified in daily operational reports.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration between GMS and other ISS teams to maintain a smooth workflow.
Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from clients, issuers, and internal stakeholders.
Participate in various working committees, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or any equivalent/related field.
Relevant coursework, internship experience, or 1–2 years of related professional experience is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Capable of working under tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Understanding of corporate governance issues, corporate transactions, and capital markets is an advantage.
Amenable to working overtime, including weekends and holidays during Proxy Season when necessary.
Amenable to working at Makati (Solaris One Bldg. Dela Rosa Street).
Amenable to working on day, mid, or graveyard shift schedules, with final schedule assignment determined during the hiring process.
Must be willing to work onsite five (5) days per week. Employees may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement (3 days onsite & 2 days' work from home) based on demonstrated performance, business needs, and manager's discretion.
