The Role
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cost Controller to join our team on a 2-year fixed-term project based in our Wellington office. You’ll work closely with the Project Controls Engineer and wider project team to support cost tracking and reporting activities.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with tracking project costs and preparing reports to help the team stay on budget.
- Support the setup and maintenance of cost tracking systems.
- Help with monthly financial tasks like forecasting, budgeting, and processing invoices.
- Work with the Project Controls Engineer to review cost data and identify any issues.
- Learn how to manage cost variations and support the team with financial documentation.
- Collaborate with project and contract managers to understand cost drivers and assumptions.
What We’re Looking For
- Some experience or strong interest in finance, accounting, or project support—ideally in construction or infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 tools.
- A willingness to learn cost control systems (e.g., EcoSys, SAP) and financial processes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A relevant qualification (or working towards one) in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
