You'll be responsible for:
- Category Management: Efficiently manage assigned categories in Exclusive Brands and Third Party Brands and actively manage products and brands, taking ownership and treating them as your own business.
- Sourcing and Procurement: Identify opportunities for range expansion and sourcing new products, run competitive tenders between suppliers and actively negotiate the best possible trading terms and prices for every order.
- Supplier and Stakeholder Management: Build and manage internal and external relationships to support the product lifecycle, category operations and optimisation
- Performance Optimisation: Actively manage and monitor sales and inventory levels to achieve company, team, and individual goals and KPIs. Drive profitability through competitive pricing and cost optimisation
- Marketing and Promotion: Manage eDMs for assigned categories to promote products and ranges and partner with the Marketing team on key promotional activity and strategy.
- Process Improvement: Actively look for new and better ways of working to support more efficient and effective processes
To be successful in this role, you should be:
- University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Commerce, Business or similar)
- Practical Retail experience will be highly regarded, but not essential
- Comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships, through exceptional communication and engagement
- Highly analytical and possess commercial nous, being able to recognise opportunity and make quick decisions for the best commercial outcomes, so that we can offer market-leading pricing to our customers.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Being agile and adaptable is key to success!
- A whiz with Microsoft Excel (we’re talking VLOOKUP and pivot tables, not SUM and AVERAGE - and we will test your capabilities).
- Tech savvy and able to use various IT and cloud-based tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
