Junior Backend Engineer (Golang)

Full time - Paris onsite/hybrid

As a Junior Backend Engineer at Kiln, you will join our Software Team, to build the future of our SaaS/API-first products [https://docs.kiln.fi/v1/]. You will report to our Head of Software, and collaborate with the Product, Infrastructure and Smart-Contract teams to work on the various products that Kiln's offers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement software features in our Golang services (data aggregators, APIs, Blockchain Transaction crafting, ...).

• Take part in automation, testing, and CI/CD processes.

• Participate in code review, bug fixing, code maintenance.

• Ensure that our services communicate with each other seamlessly, have minimal downtime, and recover quickly.

• Make sure we respect any software security norms (Kiln is a SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 company).

• Actively suggest continuous improvement of Kiln's platform and engineering practices.

• Communicate with other Kiln teams to help them understand the Software roadmap and technical challenges.

• Software: Go, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, REST API…

• Smart-contract: Solidity, Foundry

• Infrastructure: GCP, AWS, Kubernetes

• 100+ Go services processing data for 15+ blockchains

• 200Gb of raw data processed every day

• 2Tb of staking data available through our Kiln Connect API

Requirements:

• +1 year of experience as Software Engineer (Backend), designing, building, and deploying user-facing, infrastructure-related, and/or API-based products.

• First Golang programming experience — ideally a professional experience in a production environment or proven personal experience (eg. Github project, hackathon...)

• Familiar with container/orchestrator technologies (Docker/Kubernetes), and Continuous Integration.

• Curiosity and the ability to dig into a topic and follow through.

• Be pragmatic to not over-engineer unnecessarily.

• Own what is coded and shipped to production.

• Proven interest in Web3, blockchain, cryptocurrency - with solid understanding of protocols, staking, and DeFi.

• Fluent in both French and English.
