Junior Allocation Analyst
Overview:
The Junior Allocation Analyst will report directly to the Manager of Allocation. The primary responsibility will be managing inventory levels, identifying risks & opportunities in depth & assortment, and partnering with planning and merchandising to develop & execute both responsive & proactive strategies. In addition, the junior allocation analyst will analyze size selling every buy cycle to ensure optimal size curves for all areas of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory from initial allocation through end of life cycle of merchandise, including replenishment and consolidation of goods to other stores or channels
- Manage overall store inventory levels based on store capacity, seasonality and selling curves
- Assist in the creation and implementation of allocation, consolidation, and inventory sell down strategies
- Communicate to stores current out of stock items and inform them of inbound assortment
- Partner with stores to understand store specific allocation needs to create store attributes and clusters
- Participate in sharing weekly business recaps with team and cross-functional partners
- Communicate delivery status to cross functional members with action plans
- Partner with distribution to forecast weekly workflow at the warehouse
- Assist in the creation of store sales & inventory analysis and action plans
- Perform size selling analysis and provide recommendations for changes
- Partner with Merchandise Planner and Merchant to determine allocation strategies
- Demonstrate the ability to carefully listen to others at all levels in the organization
What you bring:
- 1 to 2 years of Allocation or Planning experience or relevant financial experience
- Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements: sales, gross margin, weeks of supply, inventory turn, sell through, etc. and how to impact them
- Ability to negotiate with and influence peers, members of a cross-functional team, and management
- Strong interpersonal communication
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- An understanding and adherence to all policies related to the organization
- Organizational skills are essential as well as the ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Team focused, confident, and professional
- Ability to effectively receive and communicate feedback
