JOB OVERVIEW:
The Junior Accountant assists in the coordination of the timely and efficient preparation of the monthly management accounts, reporting templates and annual financial statements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regulatory Reporting:
• Preparation and submitting statutory and regulatory reports to local authorities across multiple territories, quarterly, annually or as requested by the regulator. 
• Maintain awareness of changing regulations and ensure compliance with local financial reporting requirements. 
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and schedules.

2. Taxation: 
• Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate income tax, and other relevant tax returns for applicable jurisdictions. 
• Support tax reconciliations and assist with data gathering for tax provisions and year-end reporting. 
• Ensure accurate maintenance of tax records and documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

3. Compliance Reporting: 
• Help monitor internal financial controls to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations. 
• Assist in compiling data for compliance-related reporting such as SOX, FATCA, CRS, or local equivalents. 
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and external advisors to support compliance requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• ACCA level 2 or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of IFRS  
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The Junior Accountant must be flexible, possess excellent time management, negotiation and reporting skills. He/she must be driven, extremely organized to ensure that deadlines are met, result oriented and be able to work with minimal supervision. The incumbent must possess unquestionable integrity, be professional and articulate.  
 

Skills Required

  • ACCA Level 2 or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
  • Basic knowledge of IFRS
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOX, FATCA, CRS or local equivalents
  • Ability to prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports
  • Support tax preparation and filing, and maintain tax records
  • Certificate of Character (per Know Your Employee guidelines)
  • Excellent time management, negotiation, reporting skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • High integrity, professional communication and organizational skills
