As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our Accounting team by adding an additional Junior Accountant. Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant will support the department by performing a variety of accounting tasks with accuracy and efficiency. This role is responsible for managing daily and month-end accounting functions related to inventory, capital assets, financing, and other balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Review inventory sale transactions for accuracy.
  • Manage financing of all inventory and rental assets.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile capital assets and rental fleets.
  • Prepare salesman commission calculations.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts at month end.
  • Assist branch personnel with inquiries and requests.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Training, Education and Experience:
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Desire to enroll in CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) is considered an asset.
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting or Business discipline.
 

Compensation Package:

  • Salary between $40,000 - $50,000 depending on skills and qualifications.

Working Conditions: The Junior Accountant is based out of the Surrey office and works 40 hours on average per week Monday to Friday.
 

Skills Required

  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting work experience
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting or Business discipline
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Desire to enroll in CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team working abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with proactive communication and task completion
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy
