As Jr. Software Engineer you will be responsible for building, testing, integrating, and deploying a variety of applications to support our clients across the globe. The Software Engineer will leverage knowledge of software development best practices and LATRO’s software solutions to capture and communicate requirements to the software development team to ensure our products deliver best-in-class value to the market.
The Jr. Software Engineer reports to the Development Manager and collaborates with other members of the Technology Business Unit as well as team members from the Operations Business Unit. This role requires in-person reporting to LATRO’s office in Amman, Jordan.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the product managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
- Build, test, integrate, and deploy software applications that are critical to the success of our clients.
- Manage new releases and roll out planning and implementation.
- Use version control systems to effectively manage codebase.
- Write and execute unit, integration and end-to-end test procedures to ensure successful delivery.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional, geographically distributed team to ensure successful deployment of applications across multiple environments.
- Monitor (preventive and routing checking) production environments to proactively identify and resolve critical issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in an efficient manner by performing root cause analysis for production errors.
- Develop automation tools/scripts to enhance operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and adopt new tools to improve build, test and release procedures.
- Develop and maintain Documentation for tools, practices, processes and solutions.
- Validate live projects for backup and automatic maintenance jobs.
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
- Programming Languages: Proficient in Python, Java, JavaScript and react with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Big Data and Cloud Technologies: Demonstrated expertise in big data technologies and cloud platforms
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a strong plus
- Apache NIFI: Knowledge of Apache NIFI for data integration and flow management
- Databases: Solid understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases; experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing database structures is crucial
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and self-motivation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess a passion for staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline setup and maintenance
- Knowledge of security best practices in the context of DevOps
- Experience working with a diverse, globally distributed team.
