Job Summary

The Junior Digital Product Owner will be a key member of the eCommerce team, working closely with cross-functional teams to manage and execute the product development process. This entry-level role is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of digital product features, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. The Junior Digital Product Owner will assist in refining the product backlog, collaborating with development teams, and overseeing the successful launch of new features and updates. This position offers opportunities for growth and development within the product management field, and is ideal for someone looking to build a career in digital product ownership, especially within eCommerce.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Backlog & Roadmap Execution

  • Assist in managing and refining the product backlog, breaking down the roadmap into actionable tasks.

  • Prioritize backlog items based on business goals, customer impact, and stakeholder feedback.

  • Ensure backlog items are clearly defined, with comprehensive user stories and acceptance criteria.

Sprint Planning & Execution

  • Support sprint planning alongside senior product owners and development teams, ensuring the sprint delivers value to customers and the business.

  • Track progress throughout sprints, escalating risks or blockers when necessary.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between the eCommerce team, development teams, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to ensure product features align with strategic goals.

  • Gather and refine business requirements, translating them into clear product specifications.

  • Participate in meetings to ensure product updates are aligned with overall business objectives.

User Story & Quality Assurance

  • Work with UX/UI teams to define user stories and ensure quality control through User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Conduct testing and ensure product releases are free from bugs and meet customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with teams to monitor product performance and ensure continuous improvement.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure product features are executed as planned and meet business needs.

  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving any issues, including bugs, new features, or enhancements.

Education and Skill Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in product management, eCommerce, or a similar role.  

  • 1-2 years of experience in product ownership, product management, or a related role 

  • Experience using Agile tools (such as JIRA, Asana, or Confluence) for backlog management and sprint planning.  

  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, or similar (a plus).  

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.  

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.  

  • Basic knowledge of UX/UI design principles and product development cycles.  

  • A passion for learning and growth in digital product ownership. 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Physical Requirements 

This is a full-time position and may require long hours and may require weekend and nights work per events. 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. 

  • Light to moderate lifting is required. 

  • Ability to uphold the stress of traveling. 

  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate. 

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic). 

  • Ability to work in a confined area. 

  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
