Summary
The Chax Team is looking for a Junior Digital Accessibility (a11y) Document Specialist. This role requires a high attention to detail and a persistence to dig deep to ensure the highest level of quality on every project. As an important part of our growing QA team, this role will primarily focus on functional and usability testing for digital marketing documents, especially PDF remediation. The Jr. A11y Document Specialist will ensure that documents meet all the usability, accessibility, and established standards in preparation for release to the client or consumers.
We are looking for an exceptional individual early in their professional career. However, a demonstrated ability for attention to detail is a must. Chax invests in developing and growing skills and knowledge around digital accessibility, so while we will teach people about accessibility, some foundational knowledge is a very big plus.

Performance Priorities
- QA for Digital Marketing: Reviewing documents with a screen reader and other checklists to ensure they meet all the established guidelines, work properly across platforms, and that all elements are active and accessible.
- Communication: Providing guided feedback and recommendations to designers based on findings to improve or modify templates. Must be able to discern what needs to be communicated, and the best way to do this verbally or in writing.
- Documentation: Each project must be accompanied with supporting documentation and evidence of defects or issues so that they may be addressed efficiently.
Specifically:
- Apply best practices in design, compliance regulations, and digital accessibility
- Ensure consistency in process and documentation, as well as across platforms
- Effectively and consistently use a screen reader to listen to documents, even very long documents
Hard skills required:
- Demonstrable experience with projects requiring high degree of attention to detail
- Experience with screen readers like NVDA or JAWS
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat
- Exposure to User Experience (UX) concepts
- Digital Accessibility knowledge not required, but is a plus
- Experience with client interactions, communicating with content creators and designs about best practices
- Working knowledge of digital accessibility, having the CPACC or ADS is a big plus
