Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.The RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Design Engineer to join our elite team. GM Motorsports supports NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA and just recently added a 2026 grid spot for Formula 1! Proficiency in 3DX or CATIA is required, and imperative that you can perform finite element analysis (FEA) on parts designed for validation and convert surfaces into parts. A comprehensive understanding of composite materials, alloys, and part design will be beneficial. Moreover, proficiency in managing solids, surfaces, complex assemblies, and technical drawings is crucial for success in this position.In the dynamic field of Motorsports, the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members is paramount. This role requires a candidate who can think analytically and maintain a client-focused approach while navigating a fast-paced work environment. Strong organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to foster excellent relationships are essential. What You'll Need (Required Qualifications)Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of automotive, motorsports or aerospace industry CAD design experienceProficiency in CAD software (3DX or CATIA)Strong understanding of alloys and composite materials propertiesUnderstanding manufacturing processesExperience designing for additive manufacturingSolid and surface modelingConverting scans to surfacesContinuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvements in design and manufacturing processesAbility to handle multiple programs efficientlyExcellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skillsPassion for motorsports and a desire to contribute to the team's successKnowledge of vehicle dynamicsKnowledge of aerodynamicsThis job may be eligible for relocation benefits
