Responsibilities:
• Perform API-level functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Validate synchronous and asynchronous (event-driven) flows, including error handling and retry/dead-letter scenarios.
• Collaborate with the Business Analyst to translate documented business flows into test scenarios.
• Log, track, and verify defect resolution across environments (Development → QA → UAT → Production).
• Support automation of API test suites where applicable.
• Validate security and access-control behavior (authentication, authorization, data segregation).
Requirements:
• Experience testing REST APIs (Postman or equivalent tooling).
• Experience writing and maintaining structured test cases and test plans.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and testing within a GitLab CI (or equivalent) workflow.
• Experience in mortgage, lending, or financial services.
• Good English communication skills (B2+) — daily collaboration with a US-based team.
Nice to Have:
• Experience testing event-driven or asynchronous systems (message queues, notifications).
• Familiarity with security testing practices (OWASP-related checks).
Skills Required
- 5+ years of QA experience focused on API/backend testing
- Independent ownership of test strategy
- Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or equivalent tooling
- Experience writing and maintaining structured test cases and test plans
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab CI or equivalent workflows
- Experience in mortgage, lending, or financial services
- Good English communication skills at B2 level or higher
- Experience with automated API test frameworks
- Experience testing event-driven or asynchronous systems and message queues
- Familiarity with security testing practices and OWASP-related checks
