POSITION SUMMARY:
The JIB Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the Company's operated and non-operated joint interest billing accounting functions, including the review and processing of non-operated invoices, operated joint interest accounting entries, JIB accounts receivable collection efforts, and JIB cash application activities. Working in partnership with another JIB Supervisor who oversees separate functional responsibilities and personnel, this position provides leadership, technical guidance, and operational oversight to ensure the accurate and timely recording of expenditures, billings, cash receipts, and partner balances. The role ensures compliance with Company policies, Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs), Production Handling Agreements (PHAs), COPAS guidelines, and applicable accounting standards while supporting strong internal controls and operational excellence.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, train, and develop the JIB team, including assigning work, reviewing deliverables, monitoring deadlines, and providing ongoing coaching
- Review and post all non-operated statements in accordance with established policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Monitor and resolve non-operated and operated disputes in a timely manner
- Analyze and track non-operated cash call invoices for billing accuracy and payment deadlines
- Lead the preparation and analysis of non-operated accruals; review and approve accruals
- Facilitate changes and coding alignment within the EnergyLink system
- Review and approve recurring and misc. journal vouchers, including reclasses
- Oversee JIB accounts receivable ensuring timely dispute resolution and collection
- Lead the preparation and analysis of the quarterly bad debt allowance
- Review and approve JIB cash applications
- Review and approve operated cash call invoices
- Review account reconciliations for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate analysis
- Ensure critical payments are sent timely by working with AP / Treasury
- Coordinate with Land Administration on AFE and deck setups
- Collaborate on and assist with special projects
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with internal staff, auditors, and counterparts at outside operators
- Provide support for internal and external audit requests
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 8 years’ accounting experience in the Exploration & Production oil/gas industry, including significant experience with joint interest billing or non-operated accounting
- Prior supervisory experience required
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Experience in BOLO accounting system preferred
- Experience with EnergyLink and DocVue invoice systems preferred
- Possess strong analytical skills
- Able to perform detailed work with speed and accuracy
- Able to organize and prioritize a diverse and heavy workload consisting of many detailed, separate procedures and deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Communicates effectively, both orally in person and using a telephone, and in writing
- Demonstrates self-awareness and a commitment to continuous professional development
- Has a strong sense of integrity and the ability to deal with ethical situations effectively
- Ability to work additional or flexible hours during monthly close and other peak periods, as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
