What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out calibration of equipment in order to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Carrying out first line maintenance on instruments & mechanical equipment
- Carrying out on site monitoring to ensure effective site operation and that compliance requirements are maintained
- Completion of proactive SPS cleansing interventions using internal JetVac capability to Minimise Pollutions from SPS to ensure a Pure Environment is maintained
- Compliance with Quality Management Systems and other Company procedures
- Ensuring all JetVac Operations are correctly and safely carried out and ensure safety of those around you
- Ensuring LGV JetVac unit is correctly maintained and in date for test on every occasion it’s deployed. Bring any issues to the attention of the Sewage Pumping Station Manager
- Ensuring that all activities enhance the reputation and image of the company
- Following company hygiene procedure / ensure the filling of JetVac units is in accordance with SWW procedures (with appropriate backflow prevention as required so as to comply with ‘Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999’) from designated filling points only
- If required providing support to the WWS Planned Maintenance Team LGV HIAB Operation / wider operational business during Event / Incident scenarios (additional training will be provided as necessary)
- Responding effectively to site conditions and monitoring information that ensure compliance is maintained and the environment is protected
- Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety legal requirements are met and demonstrating a quantifiable improvement in Health and Safety culture, this includes regular review and feedback to facilitate updates to activity TSI, site risk assessments and related documentation
- Storing and handling chemicals in accordance with COSHH, QMS Procedures and relevant Health and Safety standards
- Through driver / JetVac activities support the SPS Operations teams in the first line maintenance of Sewage Pumping Stations (SPS) and associated assets to achieve the required performance to achieve Company targets, i.e. Energy, Bathing Water Compliance, Pollutions, Odour contacts
- Carrying out grass-cutting, weed-killing and general maintenance in order to maintain site conditions in accordance with relevant procedures
- Undertaking and recording vessel / vehicle inspections at the determined frequency
What we are looking for:
- 3 GCSEs grade C or above, or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science subject
- Experience of working in a team and an understanding of the importance of teamwork
- Previous experience of operating and maintaining complex processes and working with modern technology
- Able to work to a high standard, with a focus on quality of work carried out to enable compliance with our regulated consents
- Full UK Drivers Licence and able to travel to a site depot
- Ability to work flexibly, according to business requirements
- Ability to travel throughout the region and assist other areas as necessary
- Has a clear understanding of New Roads & Streetworks Act to ensure safe working on the highway
