Java Full Stack lead/Architect

Job Summary:

As an Architect , you will have the opportunity of implementing end-to-end components of custom applications - Development and delivery of multi-channel Cloud based applications (web, mobile, API, etc.). Involves designing and developing the UI, business logic, data & integration layer along with testing and maintenance of these layers. Creating, querying & manipulating databases, APIs and integration, Front end (React.js, Node.js/JavaScript) with rest calls to back end services.  Experience creating Data Product APIs that integrate with various Data Products including APIs, SQL, NoSQL, and Data Mesh. Knowledge of Azure Cloud. High level of responsibility and Ownership from inception through to implementation. Both attention to detail & ability to rise above details to see broader implications & recommend strategic solutions. Ability to work independently and with a team.Proven interpersonal and communication skills with technical & business partners. 

Skillset:

• Proficiency with back-end Java Spring Boot Frameworks (Spring Cloud, Spring Security, etc.) and familiarity with Data Product API development and event streaming.
  
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS.
  
• Proficiency with debugging the user interface and back-end application layers.
  
• Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases, including Oracle, MS SQL Server and Azure Cloud Databases.
  
• Experience integrating with data mesh architecture (e.g. Snowflake, Sigma, Databricks, etc.)
  
• Knowledge of Azure and/or related cloud technologies.
  
• Experience with event streaming architectures, preferably Confluent Kafka.
  
• Familiarity with private and public cloud architectures, including Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Azure.
  
• Competent using GitHub, Git commands and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  
• Strong experience in Test-Driven-Development (TDD) and writing Junit tests.
  

 Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop ReactJS user interface as outlined by the design team user interface specifications (ex. Figma) and technical architects.
  
• Design and develop Spring REST based APIs within technical framework as outlined by technical architects. Design and develop effective RESTful services and APIs.
  
• Design and develop event streaming handlers and stateless and stateful processors as outlined by technical architects.
  
• Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriate to the platform.
  
• Understanding of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and/or other methodologies.
  
• Experience working on projects following Agile methodologies including Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), etc.
  
• Consult with business partners on requirements and synthesize into technical requirements and designs.
  
• On the technical side, work with architects, designers and enterprise framework groups on the best solution for both business and IT.
  
• Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when architecting solutions.
  
• Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriately.
  
• Constantly looks for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution by not being afraid of challenging the status quo.
  
• Identify appropriate technical solutions that provide business value while mitigating technical debt.
  
• Participate in R&D and proof of concept (POC) development before active development for any key features where solutions need to be created.
  
• Enable the development organization by creating working examples.
  
• Follow and implement Test-Driven-Development (TDD) and writing Junit tests.
  
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using Azure DevOps or any other CI/CD tool.
  
• Strong collaboration, communication and coaching skills.
  
• Work with other developers on the team, specifically with code reviews and pair programming.
  
• Decipher existing software systems and platforms and hook in applications to applicable data sources.
  
• Write both unit and integration tests and develop automation tools for daily tasks.
