he position is for a Full-Stack Software Engineer who’s willing to broaden skills within Aladdin Engineering’s Aladdin Channels & Experience team whose mission is to increase engagement and satisfaction for our clients through our web & mobile channels by providing technology utilized by Researchers, Portfolio Managers, Risk Managers and Compliance Officers.

You will help incubate, prototype and implement the road map for new digital products, working in agile squads alongside highly skilled global Product Owners, Designers, Researchers and Engineers. Our ideal candidate is a mid-level engineer who is equally to architect and implement maintainable and scalable back-end solutions driven by lead engineers on the team.

Key job responsibilities

  • Help design and build the next generation of the world best investment platform
  • Work with global product teams to create and evaluate the product roadmap – inputting on what we should be creating and how we should go about it
  • Be the technical voice at the table, prepared to educate and guide the business on the right approach, technologies and trends
  • Apply quality software engineering practices through all phases of development and into production
  • Leading the development of our next wave of applications; Contribute to an agile development team working with product owners, designers, front-end developers, API owners, users and leads
  • Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-country environment
  • Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit, regression and performance (load) testing, dev ops and level two production support (if needed)

What we are looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience in software development using Java (Java EE, Spring MVC)
  • 4+ years of software engineering work experience on large scale software development and deployment experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presents ideas in a clear, concise and constructive manner to a diverse audience
  • An ability to translate real business problems into technical solutions
  • A track record of forging strong relationships and building trusted partnerships through open dialogue and continuous delivery
  • Experience and understanding of both waterfall and Agile project management disciplines, with an emphasis on Scrum and LeanUX
  • Passion for technology; meaning you possess a deep functional understanding of APIs and algorithms
  • B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline

This may come useful:

  • Experience in Spring WebFlux / reactive programming
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Familiar with OpenAPI specification and standards
  • Experience working on integrating and customizing industry standard API Gateways like NGINX, Apigee etc.
  • Experience in building secure software
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS) is an advantage
  • Experience with microservice architecture is an advantage
  • Experience using different Log management systems (e.g. Splunk etc.) is a huge advantage
  • Experience with different Identity platforms (e.g. Okta etc.) is a huge advantage
  • Experience in mobile development (Objective-C, Swift, Kotlin, React Native)
  • Experience in web front-end development and related frameworks is an advantage but not mandatory (e.g. HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, Vue.js etc.)
  • Ability and interest to learn other coding languages as needed
