Our financial-services work includes secure platforms and technology delivery supporting banking, payments, digital channels, integration, data, and financial operations. ## Job Title Java Developer ## Location Cairo, Egypt (hybrid/work-from-office supported; international collaboration as needed) ## Years of Experience 5+ years in Java backend development or equivalent production environments ## Job Description As a Java Developer at ITGoals, you will design, develop, test, and maintain secure, resilient backend services and APIs for enterprise digital applications. You’ll emphasize integration quality, performance, testability, observability, and production readiness. You’ll collaborate with architects, integration teams, QA, DevOps, security, and business analysts to deliver end-to-end features in complex environments, with a strong focus on secure coding, service design, and reliable operations. ## Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot. * Build REST APIs with clear contracts, validation, structured error handling, and appropriate security controls. * Develop microservice-based components where appropriate, maintaining clear service boundaries and avoiding unnecessary coupling. * Integrate backend services with databases, APIs, workflow engines, messaging components, and enterprise systems. * Write efficient SQL and data-access logic and troubleshoot persistence, transaction, and performance issues. * Apply secure-coding practices, authentication/authorization patterns, input validation, logging, and secrets-management discipline. * Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews, static analysis, defect resolution, and quality gates. * Use Git and CI/CD practices to support repeatable build, test, deployment, and environment-promotion processes. * Implement appropriate logging, metrics, diagnostics, and exception handling to improve production support and observability. * Collaborate with architects, integration teams, QA, DevOps, security, and business analysts to deliver end-to-end features. * Support SIT, UAT, production verification, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis when required. ## Required Experience * Strong hands-on Java backend development experience in enterprise or production environments. * Practical experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL databases, and service integration. * Experience working with structured software-delivery practices including source control, code review, testing, and release management. * Ability to troubleshoot application and integration issues and support production-quality services. ## Required Skills * Java * Spring Boot * REST APIs and JSON * SQL and relational databases * Microservices concepts * Unit and integration testing * Git and CI/CD practices * Secure coding and API security awareness * Logging, debugging, and production troubleshooting * Team collaboration and technical communication ## Banking / Fintech & Nice to Have * Banking, fintech, payments, digital banking, cards, lending, or other regulated financial-services development experience is a strong advantage. * API management, IBM API Connect, or enterprise integration experience. * Camunda / workflow integration. * Docker, Kubernetes / OpenShift, and cloud or containerized deployment experience. * Messaging / event-driven architecture such as Kafka, MQ, or comparable technologies. ## What Success Looks Like * Produces dependable backend code and understands non-functional requirements as part of feature delivery. * Designs services that are clear to operate, monitor, test, and extend. * Works effectively in integration-heavy environments with strong security and change-control expectations. ## ITGOALS Offers * Enterprise-scale assignments where engineering quality, security, resilience, and delivery discipline matter. * Structured ITGoals recruitment, onboarding, delivery governance, and clear professional ownership throughout the engagement. * Collaboration with experienced engineers, architects, QA professionals, delivery leaders, and business stakeholders. * Exposure to complex digital-transformation environments and the opportunity to deepen banking, fintech, payments, and regulated-enterprise experience. * Opportunities to contribute to long-term enterprise delivery programs based on performance, business demand, and role fit. ## Application Instructions Share an updated CV with the ITGoals recruitment team, highlighting the experience most relevant to this role, particularly enterprise delivery, banking / fintech exposure where applicable, and the technologies listed above.
