The Japan Supply Chain Lead is responsible for Commercial Drug Supply, the lead of the Sales & Operations Planning process. They are responsible for developing sustainable packaging strategies, leading and managing the distribution network to optimize cost and sustainability. They cultivate strong supplier relationships, drive continuous improvements in supply chain efficiency, and oversee budget management.
Additionally, the role involves managing product launches as PO&T Japan representative as well as Supply Chain functional lead, overseeing artwork design for packaging, and implementing change control processes to ensure compliance and efficiency across operations.
The Japan Supply Chain Lead is responsible for leading and developing a team of Supply Chain professionals and is also a key representative for Japan at applicable Global Supply Chain forums with dotted line matrix reporting to Global Function.
The Supply Chain organization in Japan is responsible for import of Clinical and Commercial medicinal products, labeling/packaging in country of a dozen or so SKU, oversight of in-country CMOs and Logistics Partner with warehouses and distribution to 10 wholesalers in ~70 locations.
Commercial Drug Supply
- Demand Planning – develop Strategic demand plans working closely with internal key stakeholders (Commercial and Finance) taking financial impact into consideration
- Sustainable Supply – manage end-to-end supply chain working closely with Global Supply Chan team by maintaining appropriate / optimized stock level avoiding stock-out and destruction.
- Lead the S&OP process to align demand forecasts with production capabilities and inventory levels, integrating environmental considerations to align business goals with sustainability.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and optimal resource allocation.
CMO Management and Packaging Oversight
- Act as key supplier manager managing CMO
- Develop and implement packaging strategies to optimize cost, sustainability, and efficiency, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations.
- Oversee the design and revision of product packaging artwork, ensuring brand consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers for timely delivery of quality materials, sourcing eco-friendly options to reduce environmental impact and promote recycling initiatives.
