Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated IV&V Software Engineer to support advanced defense and engineering programs. This role involves developing and applying analytical tools, performing system-level evaluations, and contributing to mission-critical solutions in a fast-paced, technical environment. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in GitLab and DevSecOps, experience with static and dynamic code analysis tools, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
Core Technical Responsibilities:
- System Testing & Validation: Review and analyze Formal Qualification Tests (FQT) for the IFPC weapon system. Identify, document, and track software defects and system requirement specification failures.
- Code & Architecture Analysis: Perform deep-dive static and dynamic code analysis on software executables to ensure system integrity, security compliance, and proper data-rights management.
- Automation & Integration: Architect and implement automated solutions to replace manual verification processes. Lead the technical integration of IFPC software into the government's Integrated Verification Platform (IVP) and other emulation/test environments.
- DevSecOps & CI/CD: Maintain and optimize software verification pipelines using industry-standard version control and continuous integration tools.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- US Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 years applicable software design engineering experience.
- Domain Expertise: Proven engineering experience in software Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V), specifically within complex weapon systems or DoD/Army environments.
- Analytical Tools: Proficiency with static and dynamic code analysis tools, as well as memory debugging tools (e.g., CodeDX, Understand, Valgrind).
- Version Control & Pipelines: Strong experience with GitLab, DevSecOps methodologies, and Agile software development lifecycles.
- System Architecture: Familiarity with modern defense architectures and active participation in Technical Working Groups (e.g., Requirements and Architecture Working Groups).
- Must have an active secret clearance.
Preferred Technical Competencies:
- Direct technical experience with the IFPC system, SHIELD, or related missile defense architectures.
- Hands-on experience developing or integrating with custom test automation frameworks.
- Advanced scripting or programming experience to build custom automation and parse large telemetry/test datasets.
