Job Description:

The ITS Build Lead will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the Smart Apps portfolio, a high-priority area requiring strong execution discipline, technical alignment, and continuity. This role is responsible for leading distributed engineering teams across multiple workstreams and ensuring successful delivery of product and technology initiatives.

The Build Lead will work closely with Product, Architecture, Engineering, ITS, CS, and BPS stakeholders to translate business priorities into effective development and delivery plans while managing risks, escalations, and competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate distributed engineering teams across multiple Smart Apps workstreams.
  • Drive delivery execution and ensure alignment with established release commitments, milestones, and business priorities.
  • Partner with Product and Architecture leaders to ensure alignment between product roadmaps, technical architecture, and development activities.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to engineering teams to promote accountability and effective execution.
  • Monitor delivery progress, identify risks and dependencies, and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead escalation management and coordinate timely resolution of issues impacting delivery, quality, or business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across ITS, CS, BPS, Product, Architecture, and Engineering to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Support workforce transformation, organizational integration, and resource realignment initiatives across the organization.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure teams remain aligned with portfolio objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Promote delivery excellence, continuous improvement, and effective engineering practices across assigned workstreams.
  • Provide leadership visibility into delivery status, risks, resource needs, and key decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience leading engineering or technology delivery teams in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing distributed teams and multiple concurrent technology workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, technology delivery, and release management.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate product and business priorities into executable delivery plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and escalation management skills.
  • Experience working across Product, Architecture, Engineering, and business functions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and dependencies.
  • Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within financial services, insurance, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting workforce transformation, organizational integration, or large-scale technology change initiatives.
  • Experience leading strategic technology portfolios or enterprise application programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern software engineering practices.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with engineering teams and business stakeholders while ensuring technology initiatives remain aligned with organizational objectives.
