The role
• Booking hotels, transport (flights, trains, coaches), restaurants, visits.
• Collaborating with suppliers (ground handlers, museums, box offices, local guides, private homes, gardens, archaeological sites, churches, wine producers).
• Briefing the tour leaders; compiling their documents; giving feedback.
• Assisting with client queries and special arrangements.
• On our music festivals: contracting artists, sourcing venues, chartering ships, dealing with lighting technicians and caterers.
• Costing tours; keeping to budget.
• Updating our database; working with our website.
• Keeping reading lists, background information, and online resources up to date.
• Proofing client documents, brochure text and website content.
• Attending client events and tour managing; travelling to inspect prospective hotels and to attend trade fairs.
Requirements
• Excellent spoken and written English, to native-speakerstandard.
• Undergraduate degree (or equivalent), ideally with one year’s office experience.
• Fluent Italian and/or German. Spanish is a further advantage.
• Efficient and flexible with proven ability to work to deadlines and pay attention to detail.
• Knowledge of, and genuine interest in, the arts (classical music, art, architecture, archaeology).
We are also interested in hearing from candidates with a background in art history, classical music, the ancient world, Asian and/or Middle Eastern Studies.
Location: Chiswick, London. Full time in the office for an induction period, and minimum three days in the office following that.
Contract: Permanent, subject to a probationary period.
Salary: £30,000 per annum plus benefits, including 22 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), museum membership, training and development opportunities, pension contribution and health and travel insurance.
