Job Description
The IT Systems Engineer is a highly technical professional responsible for planning, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise systems and infrastructure services that ensure a secure, reliable, and stable operating environment for WireCo’s global IT community. This role serves as the primary administrator and technical owner of the DcLink environment while supporting the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications and supporting infrastructure.
The IT Systems Engineer partners closely with business process owners, functional leaders, infrastructure teams, and end users to deliver scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency, support manufacturing operations, and align with business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Owner of the DcLink environment and primary DcLink administrator. Administer DcLink user security, roles, permissions, and group access.
- Analyze business processes and workflows to design, develop, and implement DcLink scripts, forms, and application enhancements.
- Design, document, implement, and support application-based solutions using industry best practices to deliver reliable, scalable services.
- Utilize project management methodologies to ensure a complete solution taking into account all stakeholders, while remaining on target and within budget.
- Promote user adoption through training, communication, and change management activities.
- Develop and maintain user documentation, technical documentation and training materials.
- Partner with Business Process Owners (BPO’s), functional leaders, and stakeholders to identify business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) planning by assisting in the development, testing, and maintenance of recovery procedures, backup strategies, and system resiliency.
- Apply ITIL best practices to incident, change, problem and service management while driving continuous process improvement.
- Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of desktop software, server applications, and updates using Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager.
- Assist in developing and maintaining IT policies and procedures to support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams to ensure reliable, secure, and highly available enterprise systems.
- Provide technical support for enterprise systems, infrastructure services, and application issues, including root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Perform Help Desk support functions, including issue diagnosis, first-level problem resolution, and timely escalation when appropriate.
- Respond to customer requests through phone, email, and ticketing systems while meeting established service level expectations.
- Maintain accurate and complete Help Desk ticket documentation.
- Assist network administrators and other IT team members with troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure-related issues.
- Participate in the evaluation, implementation, and support of new software solutions, appliances, and technologies.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including role-based access controls, change management procedures, audit support, and least-privilege principles.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with SOX, cybersecurity standards, and enterprise risk management requirements.
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and serve as an escalation resource during production incidents, contributing to incident response, troubleshooting, and service restoration activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position has no direct supervisory role.
QualificationsRequired Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Associate’s Degree in IT related field or equivalent combination of education and five years of work experience
- Two years of experience performing first-level IT support
- Proven problem-solving ability required, including the ability to perform fundamental diagnostic analysis involving the use of basic systems, networking, routing, and technical principles
- Must have good communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with end-users, co-workers, superiors and others outside the company on a technical and non-technical basis
- Familiarity with IT Help Desk support software
- Detail oriented, capable producing clear and concise documentation
- Strong understanding DcLink best practices and functionality including Tranbuilder, device loader, forms, asynchronous business functions, and function tester
- Manufacturing process flow knowledge
- JDE workflow and table knowledge
- Strong DcLink programming background
- 2+ years as a DcLink administrator and/or DcLink Administrator Certification.
- DcLink Tranbuilder Certification
Preferred Education Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Experience working with vendors/partners to configure/develop software applications externally.
Material and Equipment Directly Used

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an office setting with a controlled environment.
- Occasional visits to manufacturing facilities might be necessary where there is exposure to manufacturing environmental conditions such as dust, grease, heat, cold, loud noise, fumes and odors.
- Moving and lifting of computer equipment is required at times.
- Installation of equipment, software upgrades and other activities are occasionally required to be done outside of normal working hours. This individual must be available to work evenings, weekends or holidays and will schedule other resources, both inside and outside, to meet business requirements as necessary.
