Job Summary: The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and integrating complex systems at every stage of their lifecycle. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation with an eye toward accessibility, optimization, and security, within the infrastructure.

This position's internal job code is Sys Design & Integration Spec. Our team is currently hiring for a level 4.
Position Responsibilities:
- Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT support staff
- Use expert-level configuration, administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure high availability of infrastructure and systems
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system engineering tasks
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in systems engineering or minimum of 7 years' experience in a senior systems administrator role
- Linux and Windows architect experience with a focus on deploying, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting
- Virtualization expertise (vSphere, ESXi, Hyper-V)
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start is required

- Bachelor's degree from an accepted and accredited college or university with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or equivalent work experience

- Domain management expertise (e.g. AD, SSO, PKI, GPO, DHCP)
- Automation and Scripting experience (e.g Powershell, Python, Ansible)
- Containerization experience (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
