IT Systems and Security Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Information Technology Systems and Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust security policies and procedures to safeguard our systems and data. Additionally, they will also be responsible for handling IT support-related tickets.
This position is fully in-office Monday through Friday in our Austin, TX headquarters. Relocation reimbursement is not being offered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve all IT tickets related to security incidents and user access/hardware issues. Please expect to spend 50% or more of your time on IT support tasks
- Develop, implement and oversee comprehensive security policies and procedures to protect company systems and data.
- Create, administer and maintain a proactive security awareness program to educate employees on security best practices.
- Audit systems and processes to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices, with teammates or independently.
- Conduct internal penetration tests and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security weaknesses.
- Stay updated on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to proactively mitigate risks.
- Complete security questionnaires and respond to security inquiries from clients and partners.
- Manage the employee IT onboarding and IT offboarding processes.
- Must be currently and permanently authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- All other duties, either independent or group-based, as assigned or needed to support the company.
Qualifications:
- We're strictly looking for junior-level talent with between 1-2 years of related qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field; or equivalent foundation training in Security.
- Familiarity with handling IT tickets and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Basic knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
- Commitment to learning and professional development in Information Security.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure is a plus.
- Completion of Cybersecurity Bootcamp is a plus.
- Must be fully authorized to work permanently in the US without sponsorship
- Must be willing and able to work on-site Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm CT
