Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you'll play a crucial part in directing our core software systems, enforcing robust cybersecurity best practices, championing the safe and effective use of AI, and ensuring our team has the secure, high-performing tools they need to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the development of IT infrastructure strategies that directly support and scale appropriately with the company’s growth and operations.
  • Acting as a critical thought partner and participating in establishing digital systems associated with early-stage clinical product development and manufacturing.
  • Overseeing the design, architecture, and maintenance of core software systems, including Google Workspace, to ensure optimal performance, security, and user confidence.
  • Driving the effective and safe use of AI, and work with the Computational Design team to establish tools and processes that deliver operational efficiency through automation.
  • Helping to define and enforce the global cybersecurity posture, applying best practices from a risk-based and business-needs perspective.

  • Maintaining and bolstering core IT documentation, including standard operating procedures, user guides, and training materials.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and managing technology vendors, to maximize value and service delivery for the organization.
  • Continuously analyzing current processes, technologies, and vendors to identify areas for system optimization and innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education & Experience: You hold a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, paired with significant hands-on experience operating corporate IT infrastructure, preferably as part of a clinical stage biotech/pharma or similarly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge: You have expert familiarity with managing and securing Google Workspace, network security infrastructure, endpoints across local and remote sites (including scientific and manufacturing equipment), and implementing cybersecurity best practices in a business-needs and risk-based manner.
  • Intellectually Curious: You have a burning desire to stay current with industry trends and important security events, and you aren’t afraid to continuously analyze and challenge current processes to identify areas of improvement. You are tech-forward and genuinely enthusiastic about evaluating and adopting new technologies that can improve operational efficiency and security, while maintaining the necessary controls of a clinical organization.
  • Leadership: You work effectively across functional teams, lead through influence, and know how to operate a right-sized, high-impact IT function that delivers immediate success while always keeping a holistic view of the company's mission.
  • Problem Solver: You love to make operations run without a hitch and relish the chance to immerse yourself in difficult technical issues. You’ve got an eye for coming up with solutions that work for the team and maintain a solution-oriented mindset.
