What we're seeking:

With our strong commitment in building Gigabit America, we are seeking an IT System Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Microsoft 365 Exchange environment with a strong background in Active Directory, M365, and Windows Server Operating Systems. This role will be responsible for technical guidance, level I and level II escalations with trouble tickets, design and implementation of infrastructure solutions, functional and logical design, and technical specs based on business needs in the messaging space, along with automating day-to-day operational tasks throughout the Enterprise. In this remote role, you will be expected to collaborate with peers as required but can work anywhere in the contiguous United States.

What we need in you:

To be successful in this role you will need strong interpersonal and organizational skills coupled with a keen attention to detail. Technically, a solid background in IT, specifically experience in Microsoft 365 Exchange environment will serve you well.

What you'll do:

  • Ability to learn quickly and identify creative solutions, self-motivated, proactive, and customer-focused individual. Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Demonstrated ability in logical problem-solving, capable of using initiative to provide solutions to recurring problems.
  • An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to meet the qualifications required to perform this job successfully. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend the selection of Microsoft Server and Microsoft 365 related tools and emerging technologies for clients.
  • Translating business requirements into functional/technical specifications.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet business needs.
  • Responsible for increasing the probability of system success, reducing risk, and reducing total life-cycle cost
  • Responsible for creating alternative designs to satisfy performance and cost criteria for customers
  • Assists with complex technical tasks
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
  • Lead and develop best practices for O365 platform and Azure environments
  • Identifies and corrects faults and provides resolution of complex problem tickets escalated from the help desk, technical teams, and SLT
  • Document designs and scope projects in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
  • Support and provide knowledge transfer to team members
  • Provide input for professional service statements of work ("SOW") and create SOWs as directed and provide project management services (as needed)

  • Salary Range: $52,000 to $163,000

What background you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree - Information Technology or related discipline strongly preferred
  • 5+ years experience in IT or in a similar role
  • 2+ years experience in Microsoft 365 Exchange environment with a strong background in Active Directory, M365, and Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Email threat detection security product knowledge (Ex: Proofpoint)
  • 1-5 years of experience deploying Cloud Infrastructure and Administration (Azure, M365, AWS, etc.) and associated technologies including some of the following:
    • Previous experience providing solution design and implementation in an enterprise environment
    • Expert knowledge in Active Directory design and upgrades in an enterprise environment
    • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Exchange maintenance upgrading, patching, and recovery (2007-2019) in an enterprise environment
    • Experience in multiple types of Exchange Migrations (Hybrid, O365 Tenant to Tenant, Hosted to Cloud)
    • PowerShell and Scripting Tools to automate administration, mailbox migrations, server builds, monitoring, and nightly backups
    • Microsoft Conditional Access, Information Protection, Information Governance, and Insider Risk Management
    • Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and support of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Intune
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace
  • Interest in Cloud Engineering and its impact on greater business practices
  • Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrating Active Directory & Group Policy (Hybrid environment preferred - On-Prem and Azure AD)
  • 2FA/MFA (Azure AD MFA, etc.)
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Basic understanding of Cybersecurity tools (Ex. Tenable, EDR, Proofpoint, Defender ATP, Email Gateways, SIEM, WAF's, etc.); Microsoft Windows vulnerability patching and mitigation
  • Microsoft Exchange environments (Hybrid preferred)
  • System Centre Suite, including Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM), Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) & Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), not required but helpful
  • Windows Server 2012 and above (Including Hyper-V & Failover Cluster Manager), not required but helpful

Desired Professional Certifications:

  • MCSE/MCSA
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
