Summary: The IT Specialist is responsible for monitoring, maintenance, configuration, and ensuring the reliable operation of IT systems including servers, network infrastructure and business applications.

Day to day RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to tier 2 helpdesk tickets to ensure that customer needs are fulfilled in a timely manner. Escalate tickets as appropriate to other team members. Follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot network, server and other infrastructure issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities including network, server and application updates.
  • Manage and maintain backup and recovery systems and associated documentation.
  • Assist with configuration and installation of network, server, voice and security infrastructure.
  • Manage and maintain Exchange Online and related email services.
  • Create, review, and maintain IT documentation and processes as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, please note that the above list is not comprehensive but generally demonstrates the types of matters under this position’s purview and responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience supporting IT needs of a multinational manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform basic network and server troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with a multi-site Active Directory environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft O365.
  • Experience monitoring and maintaining backup and recovery systems and documentation.
  • Skills with troubleshooting VPN, wireless, security, and telecommunications.
  • Experience working with virtualization is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work with global team.
  • Possess basic project management skills and ability to work independently
  • Team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing requirements and schedules, including occasional evening/weekend work as job duties require.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • S in Computer Science or equivalent required. Professional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of IT experience, networking and server experience preferred.
  • Cisco Network and/or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
