The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Solution Architect – Data & Integration to design, build and maintain robust data solutions that enable smarter decision‑making across our Energy Retail business. In this hands‑on role, you’ll develop and optimise data pipelines, integrate complex systems, and uplift data quality and accessibility. You’ll work closely with IT, business stakeholders, and technical teams to translate business needs into scalable, secure and high‑performing technical outcomes.
This role also offers the opportunity to work across multiple concurrent projects, delivering pragmatic and innovative solutions that strengthen our organisation’s data capability.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of data and integration initiatives across multiple platforms, ensuring security, scalability and compliance.
- Provide technical leadership across data modelling, integration strategies and architecture frameworks.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand organisational challenges and design data‑driven solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Assess proposed solutions against business requirements and prepare clear business cases for executive and sponsor approval.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure solutions deliver the intended business outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, including ETL development and data/system integration.
- Strong experience with modern data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Fabric, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience designing cloud‑native integration solutions on Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Experience with PaaS integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi) is highly regarded.
- Experience in the energy sector (AEMO data: MSATS, MMS) beneficial.
- Background in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments, working with both in‑house and vendor engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, compliance and change management.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas in clear, actionable ways to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Highly self‑motivated, collaborative, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
