Role Overview
The IT Relationship Manager acts as the bridge between IT departments and the business units they support, translating operational needs into technology initiatives and ensuring IT investments deliver measurable value. They manage expectations, resolve escalations, and guide service performance discussions to prevent misalignment between IT and business priorities. The role combines elements of account management, project oversight, and IT strategy execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Management:
- Demand and Service Management: Coordinate with project managers, service managers, and operations teams to prioritize requests, manage escalations, and oversee IT service delivery.
- Strategic Alignment: Translate business strategies into technology roadmaps, ensuring IT initiatives support organizational goals,
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Manage relationships with third-party IT vendors, consultants, and service providers to optimize service delivery
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct quarterly business reviews, analyze service-level agreements (SLAs), and provide context on IT performance and upcoming initiatives.
- Change and Adoption Management: Lead change management efforts, including training, communication, and adoption strategies for new IT solutions.
Requirements
- 3-5 years experience (preferably in a manufacturing industry) in IT business relationship management, vendor management, or IT service delivery.
- Knowledge of IT systems
- Overall functional knowledge of an ERP system
- Applications and enterprise systems
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies
- Cybersecurity and data/privacy concepts
- Project and change management
- Enterprise architecture at a high level
- Data, reporting, and technology KPIs
- Basic understanding of business intelligence and data analytical platform like Qlik or Power BI is preferred
- Exposure to Jira or any other project management platform is a must
- Ability to anticipate business needs, manage escalations, and provide proactive technology guidance.
- Should have Excellent communication skills, govern Stakeholders, good at Negotiation and influencing, Problem-solving, Conflict resolution, has Business acumen and Presentation skills with Ability to translate technical concepts into business language
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field.
