The IT Project Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders to manage projects relating to IT Systems (network, building management, security, enterprise, business intelligence). As EdgeConneX continues to grow, the IT Project Manager will ensure we successfully execute complex projects across the globe as part of our IT Team. This position has a hybrid work schedule and requires occasional global travel. The IT Project Manager position reports to the VP, Systems Development & Architecture and will be based in Herndon, VA. EdgeConnex has a hybrid environment that supports flexibility to WFH up to 2 days per week. There is a limited amount of travel needed for this role, but would help to have someone flexible to travel as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Schedule and lead meetings with stakeholders
- Direct and manage multiple multi-system projects from beginning to end
- Create and maintain core projects documentation
- Ensure timely escalations of impediments
- Communicate project timelines and updates
- Translate business needs to actions and requirements
- Travel to data center or office locations to meet with stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail
- Excellent ability to stay organized, understand priorities and schedule needs, and efficiently work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines
- Solid communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure
- Strong awareness of responsibilities and sense of accountability
- Strong and effective team player in working with various disciplines and peer groups; can cover all gamut of tasks required to ‘getting a job done.’
- Believes in constant improvement
- Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities with tight, competing deadlines and sometimes limited resources.
Experience/Education
- 5+ years of experience managing complex IT and/or application development projects
- 2+ years of experience with system integration (or similar technical) projects
- Track record of managing multiple projects with high-level of interdependencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Applications, including Microsoft Project
- Extensive experience in running projects focused on integrating applications, including network and IT systems applications.
- Strong familiarity with Azure DevOps and cloud-based environments
- Candidates with experience in the Data Center industry, Construction, Logistics or Real Estate environments are highly encouraged to apply
