We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to join our rapidly growing team in Japan. This role will collaborate with global technology teams and senior leadership to design and implement a world-class trading experience. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, embracing cutting-edge solutions that set ThinkMarkets apart from competitors.
Responsibilities:
- Provide critical regional-specific industry expertise.
- Oversee and optimize technology systems and infrastructure.
- Monitor trading activities and report any abnormal behavior.
- Collect and analyze data, suggest improvements, and discuss recommendations with other departments and senior management.
- Ensure the availability and performance of IT services dedicated to the Japanese market, with oversight of regionally specific systems.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and partners to maximize service quality and value.
- Coordinate with other departments and Japan-based staff on work-in-progress, ETAs, and system updates.
- Collaborate with development, programming, planning, and production teams to ensure expected product and feature delivery.
- Work closely with global technology leadership to align technology architecture and strategy, representing the needs of the Japanese market.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and policies required for operating a financial institution in Japan.
- Assess risks related to information assets within the system and their utilization.
Requirements:
- Fluency in both English and Japanese.
- Experience managing Systems Engineering, Application Development, or IT Services in the Forex, CFD, or Stocks industry.
- Basic knowledge of Trading Platforms, Latency Optimization, FIX Protocol, and Trading Technologies.
- Experience implementing and supporting PDCA cycles based on technical risk assessments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure, databases, and networking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a management role.
- Experience managing IT hardware, software, and service vendors.
- Experience managing back-office and client-facing systems, including mobile, web, and desktop applications.
- Background in evaluating systems for information security and cybersecurity standards.
- Experience in managing network configurations and practical system operations.
