The Role
Manages site-wide IT infrastructure and plant-floor OT systems in an automotive manufacturing environment. Oversees Windows systems, databases, applications, hardware, access controls, patching, deployments, change management, and system reliability. Leads IT operations resources, cybersecurity execution, audits, remediation plans, and technology improvements. Acts as the liaison between plant operations, engineering, stakeholders, and global IT while supporting manufacturing, finance, barcoding, and MES systems.

Job Responsibilities:

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor degree in a computer/technology related field
    • Min 10 years of experience as a system admin within a manufacturing company  
    • Minimum  2 years  of Management and or Leadership experience
    • Experience with automotive EDI systems and customer integrations (Especially Ford)
    • Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills to work with users at various levels within the company
    • Must be able to express technical idiom in a non-ambiguous manner
    • Cloud experience preferably Azure
    • Fluent in English, German knowledge will be an asset
    • Living to Kocaeli or willing to relocate to Kocaeli

    Job Description

    • Manages Windows the Systems environment and performs Operating System and patch testing on all changes prior to installation
    • Manages application system by enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access  
    • Reporting application operational status by gathering application metrics into quarterly reviews per business
    • Maintain, support, implement, upgrade, and deploy critical databases and applications to meet business requirements
    • Manages and directs IT operational resources, including the IT Operations Technician, and governs day to day IT and OT cybersecurity execution within the plant, aligned to the IT/OT operating model
    • Monitor, analyze and measure database performance and storage needs
    • Manages development, implementation, and maintains change control and testing process for modifications to databases
    • Manage and maintain confidentiality and uphold Magna business ethics.
    • Responsible for overseeing, securing, and continuously improving the technology ecosystem that supports both corporate IT systems and plant-floor Operational
    • Technology (OT) with an automotive manufacturing environment
    • This role serves as the primary technical Manager for site-wide IT infrastructure, system reliability, and cybersecurity practices
    • Ensures that critical manufacturing systems remain stable, secure and aligned with business and production goals
    • This position acts as a bridge between production operations, engineering, and corporate IT/security teams – providing hands on expertise, strategic guidance, and cross-functional coordination. The role is essential for protecting manufacturing assets from cyber threats, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement of IT and OT technology landscapes
    • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, installation, and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, printers and office automation equipment
    • Analyzes the business needs of clients and stakeholders to help identify business problems and propose solutions. Performs a liaison function between the company and the Global Magna IT team.   Analyzes plant systems relating to manufacturing finance, shop floor, barcoding, and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
    • Lead annual IT and IT Security audits, including creating action plans, and responsibilities for remediation
