The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the complete project lifecycle, including project initiation, planning, budgeting, resource management, implementation, deployment, operational transition, and project closure. This role requires a strong blend of project management expertise and technical understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies.

Working closely with customers, technical teams, solution architects, operations teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders, the IT Infrastructure Project Manager will drive infrastructure modernization, transformation, migration, and improvement initiatives while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.

Project Delivery & Governance
  • Manage complex IT infrastructure projects through the entire project lifecycle.

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource plans, and budgets.

  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets, scope, and quality requirements.

  • Apply appropriate governance, methodologies, controls, and reporting mechanisms throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Conduct project reviews, lessons learned sessions, and formal project closure activities.

Financial & Resource Management
  • Manage project budgets and monitor actual expenditure against approved financial plans.

  • Coordinate internal and external project resources to ensure successful delivery.

  • Track project performance and proactively address issues affecting schedules, costs, or deliverables.

  • Ensure effective utilisation of project resources across multiple workstreams and initiatives.

Risk, Issue & Change Management
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints.

  • Develop mitigation plans and contingency strategies to minimise delivery risks.

  • Manage change requests and ensure appropriate governance and stakeholder approvals are maintained.

  • Escalate critical risks and issues where necessary and drive timely resolution.

Stakeholder & Customer Management
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between customers, technical teams, vendors, subcontractors, and management.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Facilitate project governance meetings, status reviews, and steering committee sessions.

  • Prepare and present project reports covering progress, budgets, risks, issues, and key decisions.

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level stakeholders.

Infrastructure Implementation & Transition
  • Lead infrastructure implementation, migration, modernization, refresh, and transformation initiatives.

  • Coordinate production changes and infrastructure migrations while minimizing disruption to business operations.

  • Manage the transition of new infrastructure solutions into operational support environments.

  • Ensure operational readiness, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities are completed successfully.

  • Collaborate with service management and support teams to facilitate a seamless handover into production.

The successful candidate is not expected to possess deep engineering expertise across all areas but should demonstrate sufficient technical understanding to effectively engage with technical teams, understand dependencies, and translate technical challenges into actionable project plans.

Who You Are

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is mandatory.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing IT projects, including significant experience delivering IT infrastructure projects.

  • Proven track record managing complex, medium to large-scale enterprise infrastructure initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure environments and technologies.

  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and governance activities.

  • Experience coordinating multiple technical teams across infrastructure and technology domains.

  • Demonstrated customer-facing experience and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience presenting project updates, risks, and financial reporting to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

  • Experience working with third-party vendors, subcontractors, systems integrators, and technology partners.

  • Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, complex, and changing environments.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive projects through to successful completion.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge and practical understanding of ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.

  • Experience delivering cloud transformation or hybrid cloud initiatives.

  • Experience working within enterprise-scale infrastructure modernization programmes.

  • Familiarity with operational transition, service introduction, and support readiness activities.
