PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

The Financial Application Administrator has a strong working knowledge of applications administrated by the Credit Union and is regarded as the subject matter expert (SME) for core business applications. Serve as primary Tier 2 support for business applications. This Individual will work closely with other services desk, desktop service, business units, security, infrastructure, business analyst and project management team. Install, configure, and manage associated financial applications following proper guidelines and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Daily operations of Financial Systems Infrastructure
    1. Perform system processing, adhering to appropriate schedules.
    2. Leverage data acquired through regular health checks to create performance reports and regularly review reports with management.
    3. Maintain NACCU ATM, Debit Card, and Online Banking infrastructure. Ensuring uptime, processor connectivity, and transaction/system health.
  2. Provide 2nd tier technical support for tickets opened with credit union staff and vendors for multiple key/critical applications administered via Service Desk ticket system, phone, email, and remote support; documenting all work and escalating as when required.
  3. System Responsibility
    1. Responsible for management of financial systems access controls and user accounts.
    2. Manage Financial systems and applications following proper procedures and guidelines.
    3. Troubleshoot and support financial systems and applications.
    4. Collaborate with business units and assist with any system maintenance /installation, including routine applications releases, patches, and application updates following proper change management procedures.
  4. Maintain technical documentation including, but not limited to; software, hardware, and licensing inventory tracking; system and application installation and management procedures.
  5. Proactively works with business units, business analysts and business application analyst to seek out opportunities to increase the operational efficiency of the organization through the applications managed.
  6. Provides expertise and consultation to project teams for core business applications.
  7. Participates in any testing of applications assigned; including assisting with development of effective test plans and analysis of testing results in all environments (beta, test, and production).
  8. Adheres to and maintain knowledge in compliance standards relative to the products and services supported by the applications managed.
  9. Understand how the core business applications are configured and are being used by respective business units.
  10. Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.

Supervise Approximately: None

Reports to: SVP Operations Technology

Contacts: Frequent contact with other employees, departments, and outside vendors. Some contact with members.

Requirements

EDUCATION

BA/BS degree in Computer Systems/Software Engineering/ Management or related course of study.

EXPERIENCE

Five (5) years of progressive application/software/system administration management, financial operations experience preferred.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership abilities. Demonstrated strength in adhering to business strategies and driving results across internal teams and/or external partners. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to translate technical jargon for non-technical peers. Ability to establish and maintain technical documentation. Must be highly organized and possess exemplary time management skills in order to manage projects that are wholly or in part the responsibility of the managed team.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position involves wrist/hand manipulation; good visual acuity for detail work; ability to bend stoop on a regular basis; reach overhead and lift up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents. Must possess a valid drivers license, means of transportation and be able to travel independently. Periodic after-hours work required.

Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Can exercise the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have working knowledge and demonstrated understanding of core business applications (Financial Platform, Lending Platform, and Collections/Workflow Platform) used within the Credit Union.
  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of situations exercising flexibility, critical thinking skills and sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must process a working knowledge of process mapping and project management.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Must have strong PC skills; with proficiency of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and Visio.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills required, with the ability to research issues, summarize findings and make meaningful recommendations.

Skills Required
