About This Job
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for an Enterprise Architect. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The Enterprise Architect defines the standards, governance, and architectural frameworks that ensure all individual solutions are secure, scalable, and interoperable. They bridge the gap between high-level business goals and executable technical strategies, driving organization-wide efficiency and ensuring that emerging technologies are adopted systematically to reduce risk and cost across the entire program.
The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Programmatic Requirements:
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. The ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, lead teams, and drive consensus
- Act as the primary technical advisor to leadership, providing transparency into IT development processes, long-term cost trajectories, and the alignment of technical investments with business goals
- Effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) across diverse business functions, including project managers, security and cyber specialists, system administrators, and end-users to build strong working relationships, facilitate open communication, eliminate silos, and drive total enterprise efficiency
- Set the "guardrails" that Solutions Architects must follow to ensure all project-level designs are integrated and secure
- Drive enterprise-wide process optimization initiatives to improve network efficiency, security, and scalability
- Identify bottlenecks, recommend improvements, and implement changes in a controlled and auditable manner
- Ensure network designs align with DoW standards for interoperability and security through DoD Architecture Framework compliance
- Implement and adhere to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoW IT systems, ensuring all network designs and implementations are secure and compliant with DoW security policies
- Adhere to change management processes and experience with configuration management tools to maintain accurate records of network configurations and changes
- Create detailed network diagrams, design documents, implementation plans, and operational procedures
- A deep understanding of IT enterprise infrastructure (preferably existing ICBM), both on-premises and in the cloud, including network topology, hardware and software components, and security architecture
- Proficiency in DoDAF to manage the complexity of the ICBM IT ecosystem
- An ability to identify network problem areas, analyze root causes, and deliver effective technical solutions that address performance, security, and scalability issues
- Experience evaluating existing and emerging network technologies, including SDN, cloud networking, and security solutions, and recommending and implementing solutions that align with ICBM goals
- Expertise in network design principles, security technologies, and cloud networking technologies
- Proficiency in network automation tools and scripting languages to automate network configuration, deployment, and management tasks
- Expertise in network monitoring tools and techniques for proactive identification and resolution of network issues
- Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and their integration into network architectures
- Proven success in leading a "Digital Transformation" or legacy-to-cloud migration within a government or defense context

Clearance Requirement
This position requires an active final Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is preferred.
Certification Requirement
The applicant must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification requirements on hire date and possess the following certifications:
- CISSP or CISM
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education and Experience Requirements for This Position:
- High School diploma and 18+ years of related experience, or
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 14+ years applicable experience)
- MA/MS degree and 12+ years applicable experience
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in network design, implementation, and security, with at least 3-5 years of experience working on large-scale enterprise or government IT projects, specifically with experience assessing and improving existing infrastructure, with a proven track record of moving from Solution-level design to Enterprise-level strategy.
Pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship.
Clearance Requirement

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $136000 - $231200
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
